One thing i remember about this was that during the media frenzy it was reported in the news that the car Diana was travelling in was stolen 6-8 weeks previous but was recovered minus its computer.
Now these cars were cutting edge technology at the time and were almost impossible to steal, except for perhaps a professional , what professsional car thief steals a £200,000 car and removes the £10,000 computer and leaves the rest behind?
Or was the replacement computer custom made in anticipation of the occupants to come, bearing in mind that Mercecedes was one of the first to have computer controlled suspension/brakes etc.
