Nice… no one said the appolo rocket didn’t launch. There was plenty of light to take pictures with. There was however, no flash photography, we didn’t have the ability to automate a light sensor with a aperature control to automatically adjust for flash fill on the moon in 1969… but we had the ability to send people to the moon? The moon isn’t lit at night by reflected light from the earth genius… its lit by light shining directly on the lunar surface from the sun… as the earth passes between the moon and the sun, it creates the lunar cycle.. (half, full, crescent, etc..) before you jump into a conversation waving your american flag, educate yourself. Your a prime example of the ignorance that runs our country.

It was Vice president Lyndon Johnson, tasked with researching the viability of a lunar landing, who informed Kenedy that we would be able to orbit men around the moon with a possible team landing on the surface back in 1961. He was given this task in order to find a campaign that would bolster American confidence immediately following the “Bay of Pigs” incident, and the russians successfull orbit of a man around the earth. When he took office after Kenedy’s assasination, it was under Lyndon Johnsons Presidency that the lunar missions development progressed, and it was his credibility on the line. It was in his last year of office in July 1969 when apollo 11 touched down. Were this whole thing a Hoax, it would have been dropped in Nixon’s lap like a hand grenade. Is it any wonder that Nixon scrubbed the last 4 scheduled lunar missions and declared that we would not be returning to the moon anytime in the forseeable future?

These reputable scientists that you speak of, are they the same ones that are scrambling to develop a vehicle to get us to the moon right now? Are they the same ones that developed the failure of a space shuttle program? (8 missions per year v.s. the intended 25-60 missions per year)

There isn’t question that we had the technology to send an unmanned craft to orbit the moon in 1969, but to send human cargo, and to return them, let alone land them and drive around in a moon buggy is rediculous.
